The interior of U-Box containers on the other hand only come in one size, measuring 4’8” (56") wide x 7’11”(95") long x 6’11 ½" (83.5”) high, with only 257 cubic feet of packing space, and can hold up to 2,000 lbs each. That means if you have an average amount of stuff and a four bedroom home, you could need six or more U-Box containers sitting in your driveway that you would need to keep track of and pack individually.

Are 1-800-PACK-RAT containers built differently than U-Box containers?

Yes, there is a big difference in the way our containers are made compared to U-Box containers. 1-800-PACK-RAT's portable storage containers are all-steel and weatherproof. No wood is used in the construction of the container, which helps resist the build up of mold and mildew and resists the elements. U-Box containers are made of plywood with a weather-resistant cover over the top. Wood constructed containers can absorb water, holding it in alongside your stored belongings. Our containers also feature barn-style doors that are more secure and won't jam in the case contents shift.
