Forestiere Underground Gardens - Considered Fresno's "best kept secret" by Tripadvisor, the Forestiere Underground Gardens are a hand-built series of underground rooms and walkways built in the image of ancient Roman catacombs. A large variety of plant life is abundant throughout the network of underground space, with micro-climates that feature 10 - 30 degree temperature swings. Built by Baldassare Forestiere, a Sicilian immigrant who work on the project for 40 years in his spare time, these underground gardens are an absolute must-see attraction for anyone visiting or living in Fresno.
