FAQ #1: What size containers do you offer?
We have three different sizes that we offer—8, 12, and 16-foot portable storage containers. The 8-foot container is 404 cubic feet and is roughly the size of an 8’ x 8’ storage room. It can hold up to 4,000 pounds and around 1-2 rooms worth of furniture. The 12-foot container is 620 cubic feet and is about the size of a 10’ x 10’ storage room. It can hold up to 6,000 pounds and around 2-3 rooms worth of furniture. Our largest container, the 16-foot unit, is 830 cubic feet and is approximately the size of a 10’ x 15’ storage room. FAQ #2: How long can the portable storage container stay at my house?
You can keep the unit at your house for as long as you need it. This makes 1-800-PACK-RAT’s portable storage units the perfect solution for remodeling projects or for moving at your speed.
FAQ #3: Are your portable storage units weather-resistant?
Yes! Our steel containers are designed and constructed to withstand the elements, so your stuff stays safe and dry. Because our units are constructed with steel, meaning it will resist the absorption of water, unlike wooden containers. This is an essential feature because it decreases the likelihood of mold and mildew forming in the unit.
FAQ #4: How will I know my stuff will be safe and secure?
Our containers were designed to help keep your stuff as safe as possible. Unlike most of our competitors, we use barn-style doors that are harder to bypass than the traditional roll-up door. With every long-distance move, you will receive a no-cut lock, and only you have the key. Our patented lifting and loading system can move and transport your unit without tilting. This is important because it means your stuff will stay level and will not move around during any stage of the process.
FAQ #5: Will I have access to the container once it has been securely stored?
Absolutely! If you require your container, we can redeliver your container to your location, and you can keep it on-site for as long as you need it. Alternatively, give us 24-48 hours’ notice, and we will carefully move your unit to one of our well-lit and secure staging areas. You can add items to the unit or remove what you need.
FAQ #6: Do you clean and sanitize the units in between uses?
